COVID-19 UPDATE

Update as of May 20, 2020

Church! We are excited to share the date for our return to our campuses; July 5! For more details on what this will look like and how our leadership came to this decision, please watch the video message above from Lead Pastor Cal Jernigan.

In the meantime, we highly encourage you to continue to tune in and engage with our online weekly services. We also encourage you to start doing this together in your homes! Invite your friends, family, or life group over to enjoy a viewing party of church online together! If you aren’t in a life group yet, now is a great time to join one! Head over to centralaz.com/lifegroups for more information.

Finally, church, we ask you to continue to serve people the way you’ve been serving people. You have loved our communities so well through this season and have been the epitome of what it means to be the Church. If you want to know what we’re talking about, check our weekly Central Good News show to see the impact you’ve had during this time.

This is truly what it means to live a life Made For More.

Update as of May 7, 2020

So... the current question floating around is, "When's the church going to reopen?" The problem with this question is it fails to appreciate the fact that during this pandemic the church never closed! You cannot close God's church! During the last two months, we have watched as people have come to faith, been baptized, served their neighbors, and invested their lives in the Kingdom! This is the church at its best under any situation!

The real question is, when will we move back to corporate worship in our buildings? While it is an appropriate question, it is a far more complicated question than it might appear. We have paid great attention to the wisdom and guidance of the White House, the Governor's office, and the CDC. All these have laid down guidelines based on data they have garnered. As we have processed this information, our Executive Board and Executive Staff have determined the path we will follow. We believe two crucial things must happen before we get back to corporate worship at Central.

We must be absolutely certain we can keep everyone safe (think children, the elderly, and the vulnerable).

We should open only when we know we can offer an experience up to Central's quality.

The graphic below shows our phased approach to gathering in person on our campuses, and we will follow this guide in the steps we take. Be advised we may not move at exactly the same pace as the government recommends. We may be a little behind their curve as we take the necessary steps to implement each phase.
